“Liaison” Premieres on Apple TV+
After the premiere in Paris, the new series “Liaison” started showing on Apple TV+ and sparked interest in international thrillers. The show takes viewers on a global journey from Syria to France, Britain, and Turkey as Vincent Cassel and Eva Green track down hackers who stole vital information.
Liaison” Takes Audiences on a Thrilling Adventure
The show opens with Gabriel (Cassel) at a party in Damascus before a flashy drone shot diverts our attention across town to a hacker working in an abandoned building. Despite their escape, the hackers try to share the secrets they found on Bashar al-Assad’s iCloud.
In the post-Brexit world, Liaison’s globe-trotting plot follows Vincent Cassel and Eva Green as they track hackers who stole crucial information, leading them from Syria to France, Britain, and Turkey. The convoluted story involves official government bodies, unofficial contractors, and an inexperienced British minister. The idea that a nation’s entire infrastructure is susceptible to hacking is fascinating and would lend itself to an apocalyptic thriller.
Eva Green and Vincent Cassel’s long-awaited collaboration
Cassel and Green, both well-known actors, have finally teamed up after years of anticipation. Cassel, known for his roles in “La Haine”, “Black Swan”, and “Westworld”, has wanted to work with Green for 15 years, and they have finally collaborated on the six-episode romantic spy thriller “Liaison”.
For Apple TV+’s “Liaison” to succeed, it was important for Eva Green and Vincent Cassel to have chemistry. Their characters have a passionate history, so it would be a huge help if the two French actors, whose careers had never crossed paths, were at least compatible.
To their first meeting, Cassel brought a photo of his father, Jean-Pierre Cassel, and Eva’s mother, Marlène Jobert, both famous French actors in the 1960s. Cassel said it was interesting to realize they connected through their parents, who have since passed away.
