The Arc de Triomphe
The Arc de Triomphe is one of the most well-known monuments in Paris, France. It is located in the center of Place Charles de Gaulle, near the western end of the Champs-Élysées.
The largest of all triumphal arches, the Arc de Triomphe Paris, was constructed between 1806 and 1836. The Arch still embodies the original idea, which was to serve as a strong, unifying symbol for France, despite the fact that the original plans underwent numerous modifications. The triumphal arch is in honor of those who fought for France. All of the names of the generals and battles fought are engraved on the interior and at the top of the arch.
