The 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were presented on February 26, 2023, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Century City, California. The ceremony honors the best achievements in film and television performances for 2022.
On January 11, 2023, Ashley Park and Haley Lu Richardson made the nominations official through Instagram Live. Nominees in the category for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series were Jennifer Coolidge (The White Lotus), Elizabeth Debicki (The Crown), Julia Garner (Ozark), Laura Linney (Ozark), and Zendaya (Euphoria).
Jennifer Coolidge, the 61-year-old White Lotus actress, who played Tanya in the popular HBO series, received Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.
Jennifer’s Emotional Speech
While accepting the Screen Actors Guild award, Jennifer gave an emotional speech about her amazing parents for encouraging her to act. In tears, Jennifer thanked her parents for bringing her out of class to attend a Charlie Chaplin film festival. Jennifer said: “I swear to God, seeing Charlie Chaplin for the first time, and having that experience – it’s my love of film, it’s my love of actors, all of that came from my first grade.” Jennifer also expressed gratitude to Mike White, the creator of the show. She said: ‘’The best gift you can give to someone is to change their perspective. And that’s what Mike White did for me.”
Timeless, all-black outfit
The star of The White Lotus wore a timeless, all-black outfit that she accessorized with diamond earrings and matching bracelets. Her makeup was glamorous, featuring a smoky cat-eye look with full lashes. She added a touch of color with a coral blush and glossy pink lips.
