Eva Green Claims She Wanted to Make a “Brilliant Film”
A lawyer for Ms. Green accused the producers of a canceled film of attempting to harm the performer’s reputation by portraying her as a “diva”. Eva Green told the court that she wanted to make the “most brilliant film possible” after “falling in love” with the script. She said: “I don’t care about the money, I live to make good films. It’s my religion.”
Edmund Cullen, Green’s lawyer, claimed that Green loved the script and wanted the film to be made, but that the financial plan was never going to work.
Production Company Counter-Sues, Claims Green Made Unreasonable Demands
The production company is suing back, claiming Green made unreasonable demands that compromised the production. Green, according to the production company, had shown a lack of confidence and dissatisfaction with some of the production team members and had become increasingly hesitant to be involved in the project.
Green, according to the production company’s lawyer, had a strong aversion to making the film and had expectations that exceeded the budget. “We have got a critical split between the expectation of Eva Green and the film she wanted to make and what the budget could afford,” he said.

White Lantern’s lawyers have presented text messages in which Eva Green called one of the film’s executive producers “evil,” “a devious sociopath,” and labeled the production manager “a moron.”Green’s lawyer argues that text messages should be seen in context, as an informal expression of frustration during a tense time in the film’s production. Green’s lawyer also accused the production company of trying to blame her for the production’s failure.
